A purified form of the toxin is administered through a series of small injections which penetrate the muscles. Fine lines and wrinkles are caused by repeated muscle movement under the skin in certain areas. Common areas to treat are known as “the 11’s” or the “crows feet”. These muscles can be targeted in order to reduce the activity of the muscle which then reduces facial lines.
This treatment is safe and there is minimal discomfort as very thin needles are used. Usually taking 20 minutes to clean the skin, mark up, then inject. The treatment lasts approximately 4 months so most clients end up having 3 treatments per year. For younger clients with faint lines starting to appear twice a year is enough for prevention.

The most common treatment areas are:
-
Areas- frown line
-
Crows feet (around the eyes)
-
Forehead
-
Chin
-
Lower mouth area

WHAT TO EXPECT
At Adel Aesthetics clients come for a free consultation with no obligation to proceed with treatment.
The consultation is client led and areas of concern can be discussed in a private safe environment.
We will decide together if and what treatment might be suitable and create a plan.

After the injections there may be some redness and mild bruising or swelling, however, most have very little downtime as the most advanced injection techniques are used to minimize these side effects. Any serious side effects are extremely rare. As injectable Hyaluronic acid is a non surgical procedure it can be dissolved should any complications occur.
-
Does the procedure hurt?Numbing cream is applied before the injections which definitely takes the edge off the discomfort. Most clients do not find the treatments painful but more of an odd sensation depending on the technique used. Often the sensation is a sting with a pulling or tugging sensation that goes immediately after the injection takes place. Some describe a feeling of pressure depending on where on the face the injection is going.

Will I bruise? Some mild bruising and or swelling may occur but often there is no bruising and minimal swelling. Using cannulas (which is a thin tube) instead of a needle reduces the downtime and trauma to the face. I use cannulas most all the time except for specific areas that benefit from using a needle but those places are deep so reduced risk of bruising. In rare cases you can have heavier bruising but all bruising does settle. You can wear make up to cover after the first 24 hours.

What are the risks? In very rare cases filler if incidentally placed in an artery, will block the circulation to that area of the face and this is known as a vascular occlusion. This is considered an aesthetic emergency , however an enzyme called hyalase is then injected to break the filler down. I have had training in this situation and have had this complication in a lip that was treated with no issues. It’s important to go to a qualified clinician so if any complications occur you would be getting the best care. There is a small risk of infection. I have not had any client with infection so far but I do use a good anti septic and have you follow after care.

Am I going to look fake? No! This is the biggest question I get on a regular basis. Good filler placement is not visible to anyone else but yourself. We are only looking to enhance naturally and in most cases just replace what time has taken away. I am not into changing how someone looks only refresh their faces. I myself have well placed facial fillers which is how I want my clients to look. Most people come back and report someone thinks they changed their hair or got new glasses. So that’s a compliment to me as the injector. We want to keep people guessing as to why your looking so good!

Are the results immediate?Yes you will see most of the results, I would say about 75% of final result is seen immediately after the injection. But 4 weeks is the time you can really see the full effect. I take before and after photos for us to compare. Everyone can come back for review to discuss results.
